What is a DMARC record?
DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) ties SPF and DKIM together into a single policy. It tells receiving servers what to do when an email fails authentication — accept it anyway, quarantine it, or reject it outright.
A DMARC record is published in DNS at `_dmarc.example.com`. It specifies your enforcement policy (`p=none`, `p=quarantine`, or `p=reject`), your subdomain policy, and where to send aggregate reports so you can see who's sending email as your domain — both legitimate services and spoofing attempts.
Without DMARC, a failed SPF or DKIM check is up to the receiver's discretion. With it, you control the outcome. Our free checker validates your DMARC record, parses every tag, checks your reporting configuration, and flags gaps in your policy.
